Chennai Super Kings defeated the reigning Champions Mumbai Indians by five wickets in the opening match of the IPL 13, currently being held in UAE. MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field.
Despite Rohit Sharma’s early wicket Mumbai made a bright star through Quinton De Kock and Saurabh Tiwary. But two important wickets at crucial moments of the game made it difficult for Mumbai to put respectable score on the board.
Chasing 162 runs Chennai made sloppy start as they lost their first wicket on 5 runs and second on 6 runs. But a brilliant performance from former Mumbai Indians player Ambati Rayudu made it easy for them. Faf Du Plessis scored a half century and contributed for the win.
